Zark Ipzo is a Githzerai avenger of Erathis.

Childhood

Zark was born to a loving, nomadic family. They moved around a lot, travelling the wilderness, looking for a place where they could settle down without fear of being discriminated against.

At a very young age, Zark's father, Kir, taught him the ways of the avengers. This was done in an a-typical way, in that his abilities did not come from worship of a particular god, but drawn straight from his own sense of spirituality. Zark did not really understand this and never paid much thought to his father's teachings.

Zark's formative years were spent learning how to stalk animals for food, a skill at which he excelled. He also spent a tremendous amount of time reading books and generally being curious about the world around him. It is in one of those books that he first read of the God Erathis. Erathis' teachings of order and civilization spoke to Zark, who had always wished for such stability in his own life.

Adolescence

At the age of 15, Zark and his family were travelling the wilderness when they heard the sound of battle from afar. When they got closer, they saw that a warband of orcs had taken over a small village and were causing tremendous chaos amongst the villagers. Kir rushed in to help, instructing his wife and child to stay hidden in the woods. Kir was slain shortly after.

When the fighting finally stopped, Zark and his mother ventured into town. Upon seeing the discarded body of his father, Zark has a divine moment. Erathis spoke to him, telling that chaos was to blame for his father's death...not simply the orcs. The warband could have achieved their goals without resorting to causing havoc, but they chose not to. Zark finally crystalized the knowledge passed on from his father, and took up the mantle of the avengers...
